I was in Philadelphia this fall to see David Lynch’s retrospective at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. I am a big fan of his films, and seeing his artwork was inspiring. It was interesting to see how he created in a different medium. But my biggest take away that day was a gorgeous infinity scarf made of recycled acrylic yarn in India by the fair trade company called Rising Tide. I found it in the gift shop. I am not a big fan of acrylic, I admit. I am a huge fan of recycling and fair trade products, however, and the muted delicate earth tones of this incredibly soft hand-woven scarf called to me. I love the earthen palette so much that I leave the scarf draped in my living room just so I can enjoy the colors. Beautiful, aren’t they?
